Take me Away

Sometimes my gift to unwrap on Tuesdays is harder to find. There are days, even though Emily has encouraged me to look harder, that I'm just a grumpy, scatterbrained mom and a complaining, nagging wife and, even though I see the gifts, I'm not thankful for them. And then there are days like today.

I've been busy but the evidence of hard work can only be found in the boxes of outgrown clothes in the hallway and in the kids' dresser drawers and closets. And I feel like I'm exhausted for nothing.

And then he comes home.
And he runs a hot bath for me complete with candlelight, a glass of ice water and a love note and puts Miles Davis in the cd player.

And that's a gift that doesn't go unnoticed or unappreciated... EVER.

Now ThAT is a gift to unwrap!! Girl, I know all about the piles and boxes in the hallway being the only thing to show for all my work. Hard to see the gifts among the piled up summer clothes waiting to go to the attic. That bath sure looks great :)

What a wonderful gift! And your Miles Davis here is a gift to me...a kind of slowing and calming that I had despaired of today. Thank you :)

I also have a hubby-honey sent straight from Heaven. He's thoughtful and caring. I strive to ensure he never feels unappreciated because I know he is a very rare gem.

What a special gift, indeed... both bath and man.
