I heart faces is giving away a Tamron 18-270mm VC lens! I want it! Do you? Go to i heart faces to join in the contest. Or, on second thought, don't do that. If you do, you'll make it harder for me to win! ; ) You can see why I need a good lens here (to get a nice crisp shot for once in my life - I'm starting to wonder if I have Parkinson's or something) and here (a better zoom would have really come in handy in row U).Wednesday, August 5, 2009

One Lump or Four?
I'm going to be an aunt! I really can't believe I'm saying that.My brother and sis-in-law are going to have a baby boy sometime in the next two weeks. A couple of weeks ago our family gave her a shower at Tea Leaves and Thyme here in downtown Woodstock.
Here is the guest of honor. She is so gorgeous! She's going to be a wonderful mommy!
This is her mom and grandma.
My grandma and my aunt, my mom's sister. This will be my grandmother's 7th great-grandbaby!
This is my great-aunt. She's such a cool lady! Does she look 87 to you?!

Tea Leaves and Thyme serves a child's tea that includes fruit, pb&j dipped in chocolate (!), bunny shaped jell-o, scones and...
a cute little chocolate mouse made from a chocolate covered cherry, chocolate kiss and shaved almonds. How cute is that?
Once Lady Bug discovered the lumps of sugar everyone got their tea sweetened a little more than they probably would have liked.
Aunt Liz gave her a lesson in the proper way to hold your tea cup. Look at her adorable little pinky!
Here is sweet little Barozzini Bug wearing one of the many hats provided by the restaurant.
And her beautiful mommy.

Here is Lady Bug with Boloney Bug. She loves this girl! Boloney Bug is growing up way too fast! She's such a knock-out!
She's making sure we have our ankles crossed, our elbows off the table and that we're speaking in inside voices or else she might pull out her ruler and crack your knuckles!

The Best Summer Ever

How do you wrap up summer in one post? It seems a little strange to me to be bringing it all to an end when it's only August 4th but school started today for June Bug and Cuddle Bug and Lady Bug will start preschool in 2 weeks so summer break is officially over. It was hard for me to find pictures to add in this post that I haven't already posted in June and July and I realized I missed one or two things that I still want to post about. I have had a lot to write about in the last 2 months because we've been having so much fun around here. So this post is a little bittersweet for me and I'll be referencing and linking up to some of my favorite posts of the summer if you choose to spend the afternoon here on my little blog. Of course, you could always come back later if you are just browsing through the pictures because you've come here from I heart faces blog(I wish I knew how to get the little heart icon in there).
Here we go,....
June Bug turned 8 and Lady Bug turned 4 in June. Here is the pile of wrapping paper from their birthday party.
We introduced a pet into our family as Lady Bug's present.

These are Stephanie's tomatoes on July 4th. I'm including these in this post because they look so summery and where else could I include it since they're not even my tomatoes?
The 3 bigger bugs took swim lessons. Only Lady Bug really got the hang of it. She's quite fearless sometimes. Here is Cuddle Bug with his instructor Francisco.
We went to a couple concerts and we made and/or ate a lot of ice cream, cupcakes, cookies and barbecue. I'll miss these things the most. I have 13 pounds to lose before my birthday in October. T minus 10 weeks and counting...

Missing you on Monday.
I just "chatted" with a sweet little friend of Cuddle Bug's and mine in Ireland
and it's making me miss all my international peeps A WHOLE LOT!!! I saw a woman at Bruster's on Saturday that looked so much like my girl S and it made me miss her so much, too. Both B and S have growing pregger bellies and I can't give those bellies a hug.
The Greggs love you all very much!

Capturing my whole day on film. ... Well, sort of.
Alright. Here it is. Though, to be honest, I nearly forgot that I told June I would join her in her post. I didn't actually turn on the camera until about 4p.m..
But this is what the kids did all day while I showered and messed with my hair and played Restaurant City on Facebook.
They destroyed the house.

So guess what 'lil ol' me will be doing tomorrow? You're right! .... Taking a nap. Just like I did today. Mmmmm... and a delicious nap it was, too; sandwiched between a 6 year old and an 8 year old. No, I did not take pictures of my nap because that would be hard to do with my eyes closed while I drool on my pillow.
Then I painted my toes orange. And of course, when I paint my nails that means I have to paint Lady Bug's too because she will not leave me alone until I do.

And what is that mark on my forehead? Is that a shadow? I hope it's a shadow; I hope I didn't walk around all day with some strange mark on my forehead.
After naps we took the kids to play putt-putt golf. There was a group of highschool (college maybe? they're all starting to look the same to me.) kids in front of us. One of the guys was wearing these shoes. Why? Who makes shoes like this? And then who buys them? Apparently this guy. There are words all over them. They look like my Grandma Maggie's house shoes.
And while we were waiting in line... I saw this and wondered, "How many hundreds of dollars would I have to spend in the arcade in order to win 5,000 tickets to "buy" this car that costs approximately $5.83?"
Then we went to Bruster's for ice cream because our putt-putt excursion cost us all of $0.00 with our coupon. Gotta love the coupons.
"Wait, GiGi google. GiGi want to find June's blog and join Team Henry. Hen so cute!"
Then, because our children sweat more horribly than even their mother does in 78% humidity, they all required a "getting clean only no playing bath". In and out; understand?
