I Heart Faces Photowalk - Atlanta

   

 I was able to participate in the I Heart Faces Photowalk on Saturday.  I didn't know what to expect since this was the first time I had done anything like this.  I kind of expected to learn something about photography or my camera but it was really more for meeting other photographers.  We went to Oakland Cemetery and then to lunch afterward at Six Feet Under where I got to sit with some very sweet gals!  (Note to self: take pictures of those girls if I get to see them again.)  I really want to take a photography class this year; I have a lot to learn! 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Saturday Snapshot - Bundle of Nerves Edition

This face is all I can think about at the moment.   I've let him spend the night at a friend's house and I'm worried sick that I don't know these people well enough.  I had very nearly forgotten that I told his friend's mother, just this morning at the soccer field, that Cameron could spend the night.  Then, suddenly and 2 hours later than I had told her I would bring him over, I remembered!  We dashed out the door stuffing pajamas and clothes for tomorrow into a backpack.  And, though the mother is great, I have to admit that I don't even know the step-dad's name and they have teenage kids and...Oh!  I won't get a wink of sleep all night. 

James Dobson you've turned me into a horrible worried mess with your book.  I know it's my job to protect him but I really don't want to live my life always paralyzed by fear.

That wouldn't be living at all.

Saturday Snapshot

It's late.  If you live on the east side.  I suppose it's not so late if you live in California.

Anyhow,  what I'm trying to get at is...it's been a long, busy day at the end of a long, busy week.  And I'm feeling very blessed to have been a part of it.  To have this life.  With these people.

Life is good.   And it seems like it's getting better all the time.

I took over 450 photographs today.  I didn't mean to; it just happened.

Saturday's Snapshots on Sunday

Last week was wonderful!  And I topped it off by getting Baby B's quilt done!  Time to move on to the next one.  My fingers will be ready very soon for all my friends to stop having babies.  ; )

It's been 5 years since I finished a quilt with a scalloped edge and now I remember why.  

My brain doesn't work this way. I couldn't figure out how to fold the fabric so that I could cut it on the bias.  I had it folded wrong and ended up with pieces like this instead of long strips.  I may have cried a little.

But I think it turned out lovely

once I figured it out and stopped blubbering about my brain not functioning properly.

I hope Baby B loves the quilt almost as much as I love her and her mommy!

I was about to say that I didn't take many pictures today. What I should say is that I didn't take pictures of many different things today.  Because, actually, I took over 300 pictures today!  But they were all of basically the same thing.

What a busy week!   I'd show you my To Do list but "You can't HANDLE the TRUTH!"  (name that movie)

But it's been a wonderful week.

Last weekend I thought I was taking some time off to recuperate and rest from all the Busy that I had all ready been dealing with.  As it turns out,...I needed last weekend off just to recharge so I would have enough energy for this past week.

I won't bore you with all the details.  Only Big Mama can make things like yard sales and projects for preschool art teachers and laundry into something entertaining.

Here's a snapshot (or two or three) of my Saturday instead.

Just feel like sharing a photo today.Because I am entirely too pooped to do anything else.  It took me all day to clean Landon's room, decide what was going in the "Sell", "Keep" and "Toss" piles, organize what was left over and then start cleaning Anna's room.  All day.
